DDP 10th Open Curating Archive
An airport is a vibrant place where people come with expectations and excitement. They start from the same place but depart for different destinations. This special exhibition is designed to look back on the last 10 years of DDP Open Curating by the Seoul Design Foundation, which has been offering creators opportunities to showcase their works by serving as a platform from which they can make a fresh start and supporting the journey.
Launched in 2015, DDP Open Curating has given young creators opportunities to create and played a key role in building a new design culture. Creative and experimental exhibitions have been planned and held through collaboration with private-sector experts, based on the principles of fairness and expertise; and as a result, DDP Open Curating has emerged as a platform that expands the boundaries of design. Over the past 10 years, 35 of the 199 proposed ideas have turned into actual exhibitions, and 200 creators have participated in the exhibitions. This special exhibition looks back on the 10-year journey and achievements of the DDP Open Curating project and presents a blueprint for another 10 years ahead.
What has the journey been like for the artists, and what experiences have they had over the last 10 years? The exhibition gives the audience an opportunity to see the process that artists they go through to create their works and review changes that DDP Open Curating has brought about over the years.
