2022 SEOUL LIGHT AUTUMN
"Beyond the bounds of infinity, ‘Designing Life at the Universe’."
In 2022, SEOUL LIGHT brings back a bigger and a more special light media art project that contains a whole new 'universe'.
The 'universe', which was previously recognized as an unknown space, a space of death, is being transformed into a 'space of possibility' that can be reached today. With the motif of the exterior shape of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), which is likened to a ‘spaceship that landed in the city,’ SEOUL LIGHT 2022 captures the journey of imagining ‘Life at the Universe’. Through media projection, SEOUL LIGHT unfolds the various ways of life, aspects, and spatial composition which is imaginable in the universe in terms of design and architectural perspective.
In the process of imagining the daily life of traveling to and from other planets in space, and the future life of meeting extraterrestrial life, SEOUL LIGHT evokes the beauty and value of the Earth. ‘SEOUL LIGHT 2022’ which leads the expansion of broad thinking from a cosmic perspective, will embroider the DDP fantastically with light.

The first step towards cosmic life, ‘Virtual Fashion Media Art’: Cosmo Walker

A huge character appears and presents a future-oriented fashion design at DDP wall as the stage. This character’s Virtual Fashion walking way consists of walking data from real model. It shows our first step toward cosmic life with the pleasant and exciting Graphical fashion contents.

Seoul Light Forum: ＜DDP Forum ‘Your Dream Space’＞

The forum ‘Your Dream Space’ will hold a forum on how to interpret and express ‘space’ in each field of Seoul Light 2022(Media Art), Art and Science on the theme of ‘Finding the universe within me’. It is a two-way communication forum where artists participating in Seoul Light 2022, experts in each field, and the public will participate together. The forum will be broadcast live on YouTube.

‘Rendez-Vous’, a major event of Seoul Light 2022, presents various aspects of the universe that the virtual astronaut D man experienced aboard with the DDP spaceship under the theme of ‘Transcendence-Circulation-Innocence’. 'Rendez-Vous', set in a fantastic universe, is a media that combines artificial intelligence-based graphic artist 'Nsyme' artist, graffiti artist 'Beommin' artist, and creative studio Giant Step's super-large VFX work and art show.
Seoul Light Christmas Event: ＜Unlonely christmas as we are together＞

From December 22th (Thu) to 25th (Sun), a special video commemorating Christmas will be displayed on the outer wall of DDP. The delightful and warm Christmas video delivered by artist Tae-gyu Lim and Sticky Monster Lab conveys the happiness of Christmas wherever the light of DDP reaches.

Once again this year, countdown event will be held to welcome the new year with DDP. ‘HELLOMAN’ by graffiti artist Beom-min, who filled the DDP exterior wall, welcomes and celebrates the coming year of 2023 with a warm black rabbit.
